For Memorial Day, the Scenefoo guys, that being me and Nick, and my girlfriend Diana went to see this movie called The Devil and Daniel Johnston. I really enjoyed the movie because I really like American music history. Daniel Johnston was a folk singer/songwriter/artist who was sort of an outsider. I would recommend this documentary to anyone who has any interest in American music.

New and Upcoming Features!
OK, so we've been working on some new features and coming up with the most important ones that we need to implement. Now we have user invitations so you can invite your friends as well as a search placeholder for now. You can view all the members or just view who is online. Nick has also started working on getting Internet Explorer to work, but we still don't claim to support it. Here are the upcoming features:

  1. Announcements/Alerts about fixes/bugs etc. that we issue.

  2. A "remember me" option when logging in. (Thanks Garland!)

  3. Personal Messaging (So only that user can read it)

  4. Delete photo function.

  5. Allow friendbox and commentbox functions accept numbers as arguments to limit the number of friends or comments they display at first.

  6. Email notification of comments and messages.

More later...

So you may find yourselves asking, "What the hell do the scenefoo guys do in their free time?!" Well, besides working on scenefoo, we drink beer:

And hang out on my couch:

Me with my awesome Reddit shirt on. We visit the occasional coffee shop (while working on scenefoo of course). Right now, I'm trying to find a new place for me to live with my girlfriend closer to FedEx where I work full time. Nick works for a small cumpter contracting company called Apley.

This just in... we may have cracked the case on the retarded upload pic thing. We'll keep you updated.

Yesterday Nick fixed the bug that caused someone to be logged out due to the links on our site switching from http://www.scenefoo.com/ to http://scenefoo.com.

We are still having the landscape and some other picture uploading problems. It stems from us running a library to shrink and resize pictures to the appropriate sizes automatically for the site. It currently displays the error message when you try to upload some pictures. We're still working on this.

We have started working on a search function so you can search for friends. Until it is done, we have it listing everyone who is signed up on Scenefoo.

The Scenefoo team (all two of us) are also working on user invitations so the members that are already signed up can send out invitations to their friends and so on. For some reason hotmail tries to suck even worse and filters out any mail sent from scenefoo.com even before it gets to your mailbox, so you never get a chance to see the mail. Just keep this in mind when you send out invitations.

In other news, Nick is driving home from Colorado with his girlfriend, Kelly, who just finished her second to last year of Law School. I hope she's ready to take the Bar after her next year... maybe we can hire her to do some work for us. :D

We finally are to the invite point. Invites went out today to a select few to start using scenefoo.com! Sahweet!
We're having problems with landscape photos for some reason. Portrait work fine.

Nick finished moving all the code etc. from my server at home to the new server at Dreamhost and now it's my turn to break it all. I think I like testing because for some reason I usually end up breaking something anyway. Perhaps we should create a bug tracking system that will allow us to upload screen shots and whatnot... wouldn't that be cool? Nick is leaving today to go visit his girlfriend, Kelly, in Colorado and to drive home with her. During this time, he'll be able to get more coding done and what not. He's also set up the Scenefoo notification of when we start giving out public accounts located at Scenefoo.com. More later...

Last night Nick and I worked on Scenefoo a bit at my apartment. Also there were my girlfriend, Diana, and current roommate, Chris. We were eating dinner from backyard Burger and watching The Big Lebowski as well. Good times. Well Nick and I finally broke down and bought hosting for our site from Dreamhost. We prepaid for a year and our referer was Vinnie of Meetro so hopefully he'll get something out of it too. We're in the process of moving the code, databases, etc. over to the new server and making sure all the links, functions, and plugins/mods work. Then we can start testing some more and implementing more features. I can't wait. I think Nick and I are going to work on it some more tonight. We still really need a logo/index page that doesn't look like crap. At least we have three color schemes to choose from.

I'm currently in Indianapolis, IN on a business trip. Nick managed to get the blogging feature added as well as an example of an AJAX mp3 player on his page. We're hoping to have a few more features inplemented by the time we release it the first time. We're also looking for hosting and we think we're going to use DreamHost who Vinnie from Meetro.com referred us too. Hopefull we can get him some referral $. We are also looking into a logo and a front page design (not microsoft frontpage, but our index page for the site). After I get back in town we're going to meet a couple times and knock out some stuff before Nick leaves to go to Colorado. I'm also looking into creating an S Corporation out of Delaware. Must get some of this freaking done! Sit tight, see you on the flip side.

I got the default css working a little bit.. I have two examples so far and I'm still tweaking. They look better than the first default page for sure. You can find one here and the other one can be found here. Feel free to let us know what looks good and doesn't.

Must keep momentum going. Now that I am back in my redundant, boring full time job, I have to keep the momentum going. Right now I'm working on a simple css and design for a new user's default page in preparation for the testing we should be doing in a little less than 2 weeks now. Sahweet! Also, Nick is worknig on the blog feature. This will be mucho importanto. I'm sure I butchered that one. Hopefully improvements will be obvious.

PS - the name has finally been changed to http://www.scenefoo.com.
